Geological processes occur slowling in the Dry Valleys, yet there is ample evidence for strong legacies of geologic influence across this landscape. Many of the rocks and boulders on the valley floor show significant signs of wear and weathering.

And then of course, there's life down here as well... We were visited in the field by no less than 11 US  Congressional Representatives and 3 Senators, the Undersecretary of the Air Force, as well as the Director of the US Geological Survey.
