Site Survey Metadata 2 files exist: 1) gps_site_surveys.csv 2) levels_site_surveys.csv *********************************** gps_site_surveys.csv reports topographic data that was acquired with a kinematic, survey-grade GPS unit. Field data was collected in static mode and post-processed to be corrected with base-station data collected at benchmark at either Lake Fryxell or Lake Bonney camp. In gps_site_surves.csv, data is organized in the following columns: Site - Plot location, noting in general, the waterbody to which the plot is adjacent Location_ID - within-plot notation (#X) where the # represents which of 4 parallel transects along the wetted zones that were sampled, and X is the letter representing the sampling site along the transect. northing_(m) - northing in meters, UTM easting_(m) - easting in meters, UTM elevation_(m) - elevation in meters, relative to EGM 96 approximates sea level comments - comments on specific locations within the 4 transects at each plot (site) *********************************** levels_site_surveys.csv reports local topographic data for plots that were too far away from a base station to reliably collect data with survey-grade GPS. Thus, an engineering level and taper were used to acquire this data. In the levels_site_surveys.csv, data is organized in the following columns: Site - Plot location, noting in general, the waterbody to which the plot is adjacent Location_ID - within-plot notation (#X) where the # represents which of 4 parallel transects along the wetted zones that were sampled, and X is the letter representing the sampling site along the transect. dist_fr_shore_(m) - lateral distance, from the shoreline along the slope, in meters transect_distance_(m) - easting in meters, UTM elevation_(m) - level, relative to elevation of the autolevel, which was not moved during any survey *********************************** Contact: Michael N.
